THE BIBLE PROPHECY’S OF DANIEL
MEMORY VERSE: “Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.” Daniel 2:45
We will go back in Daniel and look at chapter two, so we can learn more about these kingdoms. We want to see the connection between chapter two and chapter seven, which are the same four kingdoms. And all others pass away, but note Daniel 7 takes place under Belshazzar, which was Nebuchadnezzar’s grandson. It has been a few years since the vision of chapter 2 was given to the king. But God now gives Daniel a vision. God wants to add more to what has already been shown in chapter four. Each kingdom in chapter seven is represented as a beast.
1. What year did Daniel have this dream? Daniel 7:1. ‘1n the ____________ __________ of ________________ ____________ of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.” They are now presented to Daniel as symbols of four wild ravaging beasts, which come up from the sea. We need to learn what some of these symbols mean.
Winds = Strife or War Daniel 7:2, 3
Daniel 11:40
Jeremiah 25:31, 32
Jeremiah 49:36
Sea or Water = People, Multitudes, Nations
Revelation 17:15;
Isaiah 17:12, 13
Jeremiah 6:23
Jeremiah 51:54, 55
Wings = Swift (Eagles wings) 2 Samuel 1:23
Horns = Kings or Rulers Daniel 7:24
Beast = Nations Daniel 7:17
“The great kingdoms that have ruled the world were presented to the prophet Daniel as beasts of prey, rising when “the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.” Daniel 7:2. In Revelation 17 an angel explained that waters represent “peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. U Revelation 17:15. Winds are a symbol of strife. The four winds of heaven striving upon the great sea represent the terrible scenes of conquest and revolution by which kingdoms have attained to power.” Great Controversy 439
2. What did Daniel see? Daniel 7:2 “Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four (Strife or war) of the heaven strove upon the ____________ _________ (People or Nations)” For sure, trouble was coming.
3. How was Daniel affected by the vision? Daniel 7:15. “1 Daniel was in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my __________ __________ me.”
4. What was the first beast like? Daniel 7:4 “The first was like a ____________ and had __________ _________: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.” The lion was used in The Babylon Empire to represent that kingdom. The wing lion was used often as a figure on Babylonian monuments. Wings also represent swiftness, it had eagle’s wings.
5. What was the second beast like that Daniel saw in vision? Daniel 7:5. “And behold another beast, a like to a ________ and it __________ up itself on ________ _________, and it had ________ in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, _________ much flesh. The bear or Medo-Persia (had two arms) it was raised up on one side. This illustrates that the Medes were first on the throne, in this dual kingdom. (Daniel 8:3, 20.) The three ribs was a symbol of the three territories it conquered. The Medo-Persia Empire conquered Lydia, Babylon, and Egypt. The bear was also a symbol killed much people, of great strength.
6. There was another beast, what was it like? Daniel 7:6. “After this I beheld, and lo another, like a ___________, which had upon the back of it ___________ _____________of a fowl; the beast had also _________ __________ and dominion was given to it.” The four winged leopard symbolized great speed of the Grecian conquest of the world, under Alexander The Great. He had an early death, his empire was divided between four (heads) of his generals. Ptolemy, Sebucus, Cassander and Lypimachus. This represented the four heads of the leopard.
7. What was the fourth beast like? Daniel 7:7. “After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, ___________ and ___________, And ____________ exceedingly; and it had great iron _____________: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had _______________.” No beast could symbolize the power and cruelty of Rome. It was called dreadful and terrible (two legs) beast. It’s great iron teeth and stamping feet corresponding with two legs of iron (strong legs) in Daniel 2. The iron teeth would devour many people, it was different or diverse from all the other beast. It had ten horns. We have learned that horns represent kings or rulers. Rome’s rule was different. The church ruled instead of the state.
8. In Daniels dream what did he see, that happened next? Daniel 7:8. “I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them _________ _________ ____________ before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.”
The ten horns are said to be ten kingdoms, which did arise out of Rome. This took place between 350 B.C. and 476 A.D. There were a number of barbarian tribes from Northern and Eastern Europe which came in and overran the Western Roman Empire. They seized in different parts and became the nations of Western Europe; and dominate world history for the next 1500 years. We will take a close look at this little horn in the next lesson.
Here is seven of the ten horns.
Barbarian Kingdom Became Kingdom today.
1. Anglo-Saxons England
2. Franks France
3. Alemanni Germany
4. Burgundians Switzerland
5. Lumbards Italy
6. Visigoths Spain
7. Suevi Portugal
We see seven kingdoms here, but there were ten horns not seven.
9. What happened to the other three? Look again at Daniel 7:8. “I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were _________ of the first horns _________ _______ by the ____________: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.” WE Will look more at the history of the little horn next lesson. Daniel 7:36 - 43 gives the window in to the future. A divine hand has lead the nations as foretold in a dream to Daniel. These verses foretold major political changes in the world future.
These three horns were: 8. Ostrogoths 9. Vandals 10. Heruli
They were plucked up and taken out of the way; just disappeared from history. Roman civilization had lived on in these seven European nations.
10. After these four kings or beast which arise out of the earth, What will take place? Daniel 7:17, 18. “These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. But the ___________ of the _________ ________ shall ____________ the _________, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.” Also read verse 27. God will come and set up his kingdom look like we today are about to see Christ come and set up His kingdom. We are living in the toes of this image of Daniel2. This stone cut out without hands represents Christ, coming back to this earth. He will destroy all nations and set up His kingdom to last forever and ever.
The stone was cut out without hands!
| The great controversy between good and evil will increase in intensity to the very close of time. In all ages the wrath of Satan has been manifested against the church of Christ; and God has bestowed His grace and Spirit upon His people to strengthen them to stand against the power of the evil one. When the apostles of Christ were to bear His gospel to the world and to record it for all future ages, they were especially endowed with the enlightenment of the Spirit. But as the church approaches her final deliverance, Satan is to work with greater power. He comes down “having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” Revelation 12:12. He will work “with all power and signs and lying wonders.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9. For six thousand years that mastermind that once was highest among the angels of God has been wholly bent to the work of deception and ruin. And all the depths of satanic skill and subtlety acquired, all the cruelty developed, during these struggles of the ages, will be brought to bear against God’s people in the final conflict. And in this time of peril the followers of Christ are to bear to the world the warning of the Lord’s second advent; and a people are to be prepared to stand before Him at His coming, “without spot, and blameless.” 2 Peter 3:14. At this time the special endowment of divine grace and power is not less needful to the church than in apostolic days. Great Controversy ix. 4 |

Remember: it is vital to remember these are keys to prophecy symbols. They are only to be used in bible prophecy. They are not literal but symbolic.
Note: Daniel was in the lions den; this is not symbolic this was a literal story. This is also true of all the other symbols listed in prophecy.
An example of time prophecy: a day for a year Ezekiel 4:6
In Daniel 7:25 (time, times, dividing of time
1 time = one year (Jewish time) = 360 days
times = two years = 720 days
Dividing of time = one-half year = 180 days
Total time = three and a half years =1260 days
Jewish calendar had 30 days in each month.
In revelation 13:5 (forty and two months) = 42 months
42 months x 30 days = 1260 days or years in prophecy
